departure time

Just rushing in to tap out a quick post. I should be packing! Today we drive to Christchurch which will take over 5 hours, plus stops! It's just me and the kids as the hubby has already gone across the ditch to Australia. On Friday we will get up very early and fly to Brisbane to join him for a week. There is much excitement ..... and a bit of trepidation on my part. Travel is a bit of a mixed bag for me, I love it when I'm there but the getting there I don't enjoy. It's the first time we have left the animals for such a long time, hopefully our new neighbours will cope!

There will be new sights and sounds, that's one of the joys of travel. I probably won't get a chance to blog while away, but will definitely be instagramming. If you want to follow along, pop over here.

  1. I always get nervous leaving our animals so we don't do it all that often. But it is good to get away every once in a while :)

    Safe travels!

Are the amimals all yours? Have you got a farm?
Can't make up my mind which photo I like best ....snowy white goat I think!

I've been to Brisbane (the shiny city)and the Gold Coast...another niece lives there and my sister used to too but they brought a motel and moved to Gilgandra in New South Wales. I am not fond of cities but Brisbane and the trip up the river was spectacular.

    keep well

    Amanda :-)

    1. Hi Amanda, we have about 1 1/2 acres, which is enough for a large garden and three paddocks, which is classed as a "Small lifestyle block". And the amazing thing is it all cost less than a large modern house in town, because we are about 15 mins from the nearest town!! After a year living here I still pinch myself. Yes all the animals are ours, 1 goat, 2 alpaca & 5 chickens (plus 1 cat, 3 goldfish & 1 bunny) who all thankfully survived our time away!! I missed them all terribly. I will get around to blogging about our Brisbane holiday, we are in the last week of school holidays, so hopefully normality will return on Monday!! S:)
